It’s been almost 7 years since I first introduced northern Michigan to Megan’s Cupcakes. I am thankful and grateful to everyone who has ordered cupcakes from me over the years. At the end of September 2014, I catered my last cupcake wedding and stopped taking orders. The scope of my business changed entirely and I spent the fall baking, writing, editing, gathering photos and publishing my first cookbook entitled, Adventures of the Chief Cupcake — Revealing Secrets from The Kitchen of Megan’s Cupcakes.
I am thrilled to share with you all the stories, recipes and trade secrets I discovered during my journey as the Chief Cupcake. To purchase a signed copy of Adventures of The Chief Cupcake, please join me on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at The Atomic Closet Vintage Boutique, 122 N. Book Description and Reviews:
After being left alone in the kitchen as a 9-year-old — then experiencing the joys and hardships of career, marriage, kids and finally a cross-country move — Bridget finds solace in baking. With a brand-spanking-new electric mixer and a whole lot of determination, she sets out to launch a cupcake business in the small Michigan town where she graduated from high school. In this book, Bridget not only shares the six-year journey with her company, Megan’s Cupcakes, but all the recipes and trade secrets she discovers along the way. This cookbook is the perfect guide to baking cupcakes, deciding which flavors to serve, how to serve them — and to whom. It’s also filled with stunning cupcake visuals, stories of the real people who inspired Bridget on her journey to becoming the Chief Cupcake.
Adventures of The Chief Cupcake is a “tender, truthful, and inspiring book! So much more than a cookbook (which is a great resource on it's own merit.) My first attempt...Chocolate Stout Beer Cupcakes for hubby and son!” — Carol Kushion from Cadillac, MI.
“I'm a local customer and big fan of Megan's Cupcakes, so I'm excited to have the opportunity to buy the recipes and try them out for myself. I've ordered several varieties in the past, and they range all the way from the light and airy 'classic' cupcakes for kid's parties to denser spice and fruit cupcakes that are perfect for holiday gatherings. I love to bake with my kids, and I think this cookbook is going to serve us well for many years to come.” — Ami Peltier from Cadillac, MI.
